. . . Doing It The Hard Way! . . .

All it takes is a lawn chair set up in the water side yard; a cup of coffee with stove top refills/warmups only 30 feet away; a slight cooling breeze; a camera with the 'right' settings; diffuse daylight; ... and the eagles.

The bare limbs of a leaning Alder tree on a shoreline bluff is a favorite perch for them to look for unwary ducks, gulls, and herons on the low tide shoreline below.   They also will swoop down and steal fish that the herons have caught.   Across the bay is Birch Point and 40 miles beyond that is the city of Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Herons, osprey, as well as opossums, raccoons, and squirrels have been spotted in this same tree.

An open screenless kitchen window works well too during inclement weather.
