A Deteriorating House, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia... ...August 24, 2005
An AgfaPortriga tinted version by 'den'. . . . . .A CS image...used with permission. . .
A Basic Conversion to BW:
One approach to BW conversion is to enhance an image to its best color or to a preference color version and then convert it to BW. Following this approach, click on 'Img10.2' and open the Monochrome transform, using the default 'green' filter and amount = 100, click OK, creating 'Img11'. The default 'green' [RGB=20.6, 100, 2.7 % values] filter is based upon 'luminance'. Any filter of choice could be used in its place by clicking on the Filter square and then selecting a color.
Click on 'Img11', open the Tint transform and apply a *.cln tint of choice. A tint derived from an 'Agfa Portriga' paper print was used for this image. Click OK, creating 'Img12'.
To make the grass tops and house stand out more, very slight added contrast and mid-tone brightening were done to 'Img12' with the Brightness Curve transform in RGB color space, clicking OK created the BW 'house' version shown above after re-sizing/sharpening.
