Charlene and I were making passage with our sailing vessel, SERENITY, eastward through Thatcher Pass in the San Juan islands, beginning our journey southward into Puget Sound in the early morning as the Washington State ferry, MV CHELAN, was making passage westward. The low morning sun was trying to shine through the clouds at the same time as the mists and low clouds were rising. The passage took some minutes with changing light conditions from cloudy to spotty sun and from back to front lighting; making for a challengening and interesting sequence of photos.
