LTG's Bridge - Addendum 3: The 'Dappling' Effect

The Tale behind the Image:

The basis for the 'Dappling Effect' is described in Step 6 here.   In its more subtle application, it can be used to simulate the additional 'tone range dynamics' of an image that the eye sees that Jonathan Sach's describes in a posting regarding an HDR [High Dynamic Range] question and PWP:
". . . Also, the eye can distinguish less than 256 graduations under most circumstances - but by moving our eyes around a scene and adjusting our irises and by dark adaption, we can sense a much wider range of brightness levels."
Starting with the Addendum1+2 image, a 'dappling' mask was made with the Mask Tool - Paint Brush with a Softness=50->75, and various diameters and transparencies ranging from 0%->90% and a Blur=15.   The mask looked like this:

PWP's Filter transform was used as in Step 6 of the reference resulting in the following enchanced image.   For this image the specific Filter settings were for the brightening: Input=Addendum1-2 image, white=50, black=0, Filter Color=100,98,90 [RGB], EC=1.10, ADDITIVE.   Settings for the darkening: Input=brightened image, white=0, black=7.5, Filter=brightened image, EC=1, ADDITiVE.

Additionally, an image area mask was made of the water and blurred, then the water color was slightly de-saturated with an added color hue shift towards cyan with the Color Curves transform.
